Baptist Health South Florida Named One of the 2021 Best Workplaces for Women by Fortune and Great Place to Work®

September 16, 2021

MIAMI – September 16, 2021 – Baptist Health South Florida has been honored as one of the 2021 Best Workplaces for Women™ by Great Place to Work and Fortune. This is Baptist Health’s seventh time being named to this prestigious national list, this year earning the #33 spot.

The Best Workplaces for Women award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than 5.6 million current U.S. employees. In that survey, 83 percent of Baptist Health’s employees said Baptist Health is a great place to work, compared to 59 percent of employees at the average U.S. company.

Baptist Health has more than 23,000 employees, and over 73 percent of the employee population is comprised of women. More than 70 percent of employees in leadership roles in the organization are female.

“It is our priority to ensure that all of our employees feel welcome, supported and inspired to do their best work, just as they inspire others every day,” said Adriene McCoy, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Baptist Health South Florida. “As a work family, we embrace our diversity, celebrate our individual and collective growth and accomplishments, and take pride in carrying out our important mission together.”

Great Place to Work is the only company culture award in America that selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated. Companies are assessed on how well they are creating a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status, or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.

“These companies have made a commitment to fostering equity in the workplace. With the data about gender inequity in mind, the Best Workplaces for Women braved the task of combatting gender inequity by ensuring their women employees feel safe, heard, challenged and valued,” says Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work®.

The Best Workplaces for Women is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and Fortune based on employee feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations.

Baptist Health was recently ranked as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2021 by Great Place to Work and Fortune, for the 21st time. It also has been named on the Best Workplaces in Health Care & Biopharma and Best Workplaces for Diversity lists.
