MIAMI, FL – Wednesday, November 1, 2023 – Board-certified urological oncologist Mark Kelly, M.D., joins Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Kelly specializes in multidisciplinary prostate cancer care.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Kelly to Miami Cancer Institute as a prostate cancer specialist,” said Leonard Kalman, M.D., executive deputy director and chief medical officer at Miami Cancer Institute. “Dr. Kelly was one of the first urologists in Los Angeles to develop an active surveillance program, and he was also on the leading edge of using focal therapy for men diagnosed with discrete, potentially lethal prostate cancer.”
Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Kelly served as chief of urology at Providence Saint John’s Health Center and assistant professor of urological oncology at Saint John’s Cancer Institute, both located in Santa Monica, CA.
In 2020, Dr. Kelly published his findings on the success of focal cryoablation for carefully chosen patients in the Journal of Urology.
Dr. Kelly earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his residency in urology at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital.
“I look forward to working with patients in the South Florida area. I’m here to empower each individual to make the best healthcare decisions possible regarding prostate cancer and help them lead healthier lives,” says Dr. Kelly.
He will see patients at Miami Cancer Institute, located at 8900 North Kendall Dr.
