Gretel Terrero, M.D., joins Miami Cancer Institute as Medical Oncologist

MIAMI – September 28, 2021– Board-certified medical oncologist Gretel Terrero, M.D., joins Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health. Dr. Terrero specializes in treating gastrointestinal cancers, including esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, hepatobiliary cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, rectal cancer, anal cancer and neuroendocrine tumors. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She is board-certified in internal medicine.

Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Terrero completed a hematology and oncology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Terrero’s research focuses on investigating new ways to introduce immunotherapy to treat gastrointestinal cancers. Her work has been presented at the gastrointestinal meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Florida Society of Clinical Oncology and American College of Physicians.

Dr. Terrero earned her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Harvard Medical School’s. This was followed by a medical oncology and hematology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

She will see patients at the Baptist Health Wellness and Medical Complex in Plantation, located at 1228 S. Pine Island Road, Suite 410.
