Kristen Millado, M.D., joins Miami Cancer Institute as Medical Oncologist and Hematologist

MIAMI –September 30, 2021– Board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist Kristen Millado, M.D., joins Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health. Dr. Millado specializes in benign hematology and treating genitourinary cancers, including bladder, kidney, penile, prostate and testicular cancers. She is board-certified in internal medicine and board-eligible in hematology and oncology.

“Dr. Millado’s fellowship training and compassionate, multidisciplinary approach to treating genitourinary cancers and benign hematological disorders will make her an asset to Miami Cancer Institute,” said Leonard Kalman, M.D., executive deputy director and chief medical officer at Miami Cancer Institute. “We are pleased to welcome her to our team.”

Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Millado completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology and was elected chief fellow at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

She has served on the Governor’s Advisory Council for the American College of Physicians District of Columbia Chapter and as a member of hospital quality improvement and cancer committees.

Dr. Millado has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the Journal of Urology and ASCO Daily News expert commentaries. She has also presented at national conferences, including the American College of Physicians National Conference and the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.

Dr. Millado earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. This was followed by her medical oncology and hematology fellowship at the Rush University Medical Center.

She will see patients at the Baptist Health Wellness and Medical Complex in Plantation, located at 1228 S. Pine Island Road, Suite 410.
